It's over...until next summer

Written By Sandra on Saturday 6 September 2008 | 21:52

As much as I'm looking forward to coming back to my garden and home, I can't lye about the fact that I'm indeed sad because summer is near its' end and my four weeks holiday is over. I spent one month on one Croatian island and I guess I'm to addicted to this place so it'll take a while for me to adapt to continent way of living. For start, here are a picture or two ...just to make it easier for next post.

I would appreciate if someone could tell what kind of flower is this - I found it beside the road (a path), and I don't where to start looking for some informations. I think it is something wild, but I only have a picture.

This flower is called "Lantana" -- it grows wild in Southern California. Beautiful pictures!

Ewa, yes this is a Lantana; it grows wild in Australia, it was introduced and it is a weed as it chokes the native plants. Nevertheless it is a pretty plant when it is culivated and its reproduction controlled.
I understand that you would like to stay on this (your) beautiful Island!

It is always disheartening to leave a heavenly place like this one. But that's the way to go. Anyway, nice photo.

Hi Klearchos and thank you for your comment.
About lantana - I didn't know anything about it, but as I found out this plant isn't rare at all - but mostly in coastal areas. I brought some seeds with me when I came home from vacation, so I'll try to grow them for myself - we'll see how this crazy experiment will end up :-)
